Hey, I have a 99 Dodge Ram 1500. I blew my 318 out of it and it's time for a 360. I have read up on putting my 318 throttle body an heads on a 360 and everyone says it adds good torque an maybe milage, but nothing says weather or not I need to flash my ecm? What do you guys think? I lifted it and put 35 12.5 tires on it so it needs more balls than jut another 318.
On another note, I found it very interesting that there is practically not power gain to be had building a 318. I tore it appart to find it came stock with flat tops and a roller cam.

When the Chrysler smallblock v8 got the Magnum rework, the head, intake and throttle body were standardized. You neither gain nor lose by swapping them. Also, the 318 has tons of build-up potential.

All you can do I either give it 360 heads and throttle body or stroke it may as well just get a 318

And I just said putting 360 Magnum heads on a 318 Magnum would do nothing because the Magnum heads are the same for both engines. The 360 head swap is a valid power improved for the 318 LA, but not Magnum.
