Volume control not working well. Sometimes I can turn it a full turn two or three times and the volume doesn't change. Sometimes it works fine and sometimes when I try to turn the volume down the sound actually goes up for a couple of clicks and then down.

I've tried pulling out on the knob and pushing in as I turn it in an attempt to see if something is loose to no avail.

Is this as simple as removing the knob and re-seating something or is it just broken and if it annoys that much I should just replace it?

I would just replace it, and move on up to CDs. They are not that hard to replace.
I know, I used to do car audio. I don't want to replace it as this more a utility vehicle, not a daily driver. But I use it just enough to be a nuisance. I'd much rather spend a couple bucks fixing this than 100+ replacing it.

Mine had the CD player and the volume button did the same thing. I just got a Kenwood head unit.
