No you need the sensors (the front ones anyway) but the rear one will have to be fooled into thinking there a cat there.

 

Hmm. How does one fool the sensor behind the cat?

 

Get a mini cat or tune it to ignore it.

They still make pipes that look like Cats and that will have ports for the sensors

 

Jegs has a catless y pipe. I have it on my 01. What I did the spark plug anti fouler trick. Google it and it will explain the process. No issues with check engine lights.

 

Depending on tuner options the only available one I could find for my 97 was the hypertech. Did nothing. So waisted 400 bucks there. Just spent another 800 to do it properly. My advice save and get a proper ECM programmer. It will save you in the end. Plus way more options to play with.
