I have been doing some research on how to update the Maps on the 430N RHB.

This is the somewhat easy way to do it. (or just less painful)

This is for someone who knows his way around a computer.

1. First you need a copy of the radio software update. (I used the last 50.00.07) It will be usually in .ISO form. I found it easily doing a google search.

2. Download the latest copy of Garmin City Navigator North America NT Unlocked. (I used 2014.10) You can find it on most torrent site.

Here is the tricky step:

3. Mount the .ISO file on a virtual drive (I used Daemon tool. Its free) and open it to see its content. Copy all the file to a new folder on your computer. Lets call this Folder "Radio Update"

4. Copy the file gmapsupp.img from the newly download folder "Garmin City Navigator North America NT" to the folder called "Garmin" inside the "Radio Update" folder. Once copied inside the "Garmin" folder, rename it gmapprom.img. (the one inside the "Garmin" folder)

5. (optional) if you have the junction view files, create a folder called JCV folder inside the "Garmin" folder and copie the JCV file in there.

6. Now you need to burn the content of the "Radio Update" folder on a DVD. Burn all content and not the "Radio Update" folder.

7. Insert the DVD in the radio unit and wait for a long time. It took me almost 2 hours to complete all updates.

Do this update with the vehicle running or a charger on the battery. You can not interrupt the process. Starting the vehicle will interrupt the process.

It did not ask me for a code for the maps.

This process updated all my maps and the radio software at the same time.

I tried to make those instructions easy.

This worked for me. It took 5 days and about 10 hours to get it all figured out but I was able to update the Garmin map on my 2011.

I had 50.xxxxx and had to downgrade to 33.xxxx. From there I was able to load the Garmin map file from USB to my device. It took about 40 minutes to save. I was then able to update back to 50.xxxxx

All in all, I had several failed attempts with an unlocked map until I did some digging on some less than reputable sites to understand some of the Garmin lock/code issues. This is where the extra hours came in.

In the end, I have 2014.10 Garmin maps updated on my RHB with the updated Junction views. No luck on custom voices yet. It is WONDERFUL to be able to get around the costly and outdated maps that you buy from Mopar. By that I mean legally acquiring the Garmin city navigator map and then hacking it up to get it to load on the system is cheaper.

Try to look around on p2p/torrent sites.

I downloaded an unlocked version, but I did receive an error when I tried to load it. The radio prompted an error asking for the unlock code. This might have been due to my error somewhere. I found had to find a key generator for the maps on the web and used a tool to code the key into the map file. From there it loaded without any errors.

So, once I go through all of this will it work on multiple vehicles? Both our vehicles are '12s and have the 430N radio. I was able to perform the upgrade to 50.xxx with the same setup disk I cretaed.

yeah it'll work on both, you will have to roll back the firmware version to 33.xx.xx first... then update maps... then reinstall firmware version 50.xx.xx

1st I updated to 33.xx.xx.xx.xx using dvd
2ng format usb fat32 using the 2014.2 gmapprom.img from TPirateB and JCV D3060130A in root dir of the usb
Garmin/gmapprom.img and Garmin/JCV/D3060130A
the JCV should be in the same folder as the gmapprom.img
find the nav id number its 10 digits long in the about section in the nav settings and then using map id 3047 generate key its 25 digits long
3rd tried 2014.2 with JCVd306...130a map and pnd successful
4th I had to use the jetmouse to get a serial code it worked like a charm
How to easy get unlock code on the 430n go to nav details and get the NAV Id # its 1234567890 total of 10 numbers
load Jetmouse go to custom map set enter your NAv Id and the Map Id for the Nav map your using (ex. map 2014.4 is 3187)
5th using a Kingston data traveler 8 gig the usb stick has to be since win 7 first came out I used it as a boot usb for years I don't think the speed of the usb really matters
6th leave vehicle off put usb stick in front of deck and turn vehicle on
to run position do not start vehicle the 430n will boot the usb automatically reading files for about 15 mins or so then will say you want to update maps press yes another pop will come up say you have to purchase the update contact Chrysler
hit ok and the 25 digit bar comes up with the code
9th enter the code you got with the jetmouse and that should start the nav update 1/1 no matter which file I download it asks for a unlock code in
9th map update complete pnd update complete
enjoy
I also did the 2014.4 from GPSUG and the JCV D3060130A with (map id 3187 for jetmouse to get unlock code) the same as above without a hitch and update to 50.0.xx.xx.x using dvd page 3 off the private server

thanks to all that put in the effort its frustrating and if it doesn't work reread the entire thread you will get it I had to read it about 6-8 times to catch it all

I do believe most people are using the wrong img to try and update using only this or that check what software is installed already on the 430n and match it directly

if it says NORTH AMERICA or LOWER STATES OR CANADA AND ALASKA use the correct img

this whole process once I had the img files, firmware updates 33.xx and 50.xx, and jcv took about 2.5 hours

the whole process to get the files read to get it all done to this point was about 8 hours

and No I have not bothered to go any further with the 2015.1 or .2 files my map was 2011.1 its a totally different system no more blue screen not driving off the road into nothing

JetMouse Garmin Keygen v1.5 with Checksum Fix

Thanks for this post. Maybe you can help me. I've followed this step by step and when I try to load the maps one USB just says please wait reading files for 45 minutes before I give up and the other USB instantly says update fail, pnd successful but I don't have any maps. I started this process because one day I went to use my Nav and it said I didn't have any maps loaded.

I need a little help, I have done everything I have read to this point. I was getting a wrong map error after downloading city navigator north america 2014.4 and mine was city navigator +mexico. This was fixed by downloading the city navigator 2014.4 all map image. Now I cannot get past map unlock code on the unit itself. I have ran jetmouse 1.5 with checksum a multitude of different ways. I have tried XT and pc mode with custom map 3187. I even double checked the image I'd of the map with another program. I put in I'd from rhb unit and no codes work. What am I doing wrong????

Hi !

I tried to update the Garmin MAP but I can't update with the latest version 2015.30 (City Navigator North America NT 2015.30).

First, I upgrade the system to 33.01.23. Then, I tried with the 2015.30 and it says the maps are not compatible with the actual maps.
So, I decided to try with the 2014.40 and it works.
I tried another version (2015.10), but there is another strange message :
"Current Map : Honolulu, Hawai, Kapaa, Hawai, Kahului, Hawai, 1
Update Map : CN North America NT 2015.10 US & Canada2"

I don't understand why the "current map" is that because it's the North America Map.

Well. Finally, I update the system to 50.00.07 but I would like to have the latest map of Garmin.. Do you know if it's possible ?

Thanks !

Regards.

So I am not sure if I am doing this right, when I plugged in the disc, it read it, stated that it was doing the software update, rebooted, and has been on the logo screen for the past 1 1/2 hours...I know the post says it takes up to 2 hours, but is it supposed to do anything else while it's updating? Thanks for any help you can provide.

I got stuck in the boot loop last night while trying to update the 50.xx.xx firmware with the new maps on it. Luckily I was able to eject the disk. On a whim I put the 33.XX.XX back in and it started updating back to that. then I burned a copy of the 50.xx.xx without the maps on it...and got myself back to where I started.

Currently I have 50.00.07 firmware and 2012 maps. But debating trying again. I have all the files for the 2014 maps but I am reading elsewhere on some jeep forums that it can be updated to 2016.10, but I cant find the JCV file anywhere. looks like its been deleted from many sites. Should I try the 2017.10?

Anyone have any thoughts or experience with these maps on 430N RHB

Did you ever get this sorted out?

Does anyone still have a copy of JetMouse? I can't seem to find it anywhere - just lots of broken links.

I have a good copy of 2014.40 but need to generate the key to get it working.

I just updated my 2011 RHB to garmin North America 2017.30 from 2017.10 and it looks like just as with 2017.20 Junctions views aren't working. To update I had to downgrade firmware to 33.02.01. I'm still running navigation software version 3.00. Can Anyone who has installed firmware 50.01.01 give the nav soft version ? I don't know if this will fix the issue or not. From my under staying there is no downgrading once you go past 50.00.07

Other than downgrading to 33.02.01 did you have to do anything else to get the update to work? I have not had any luck upgrading past 2014.40 and did not think it was possible to go past that. Any tips or suggestions would be great! Thanks.
