It's been a while, but I have an issue that it seems no one else does/did have. and the repair manual says check wire connections, take to your dealer service dept. :bur2:not if I can help it!!!!!
so heres what I've got, 04 Ram 2500 4x4 QC 5.7 Hemi.
driving down the road and brake and ABS lights come on in the dash and ABS hydraulic control unit comes on. pull over, turned off truck but the ABS HCU continued running. pulled neg cable to shut it off. checked wheel speed sensor wiring and connections, looks good. anyone got any ideas as to what comes next? appreciate your thoughts and suggestions.

I just bought my 2005 Ram 1500 4x4 SLT 5.7L Hemi. When I bought it both the ABS and Break lights were on. They did go off and on periodically but never seemed to work correctly. As a condition of the purchase from the dealer I wanted them to fix whatever was causing the light to illuminate. They agreed, and I took it to the shop 2 days after I bought it. They ended up keeping the pickup for a week fixing one thing after another. First they checked all the ABS sensors and found nothing. They then replaced the ABS module. That fixed the ABS light but the Break light was still on. They then ended up replacing the Break Master Cylinder. And that corrected both problems and the ABS began to work correctly. I called another dealer to find out how much the work they had to do would of costed me to do if I had not made the agreement and they said around $1500. I know its not what you want to hear, but that was my experience. Hope this helps you. Scott

Thanks Scott, pretty sure its the HCU. not sure if it's a good idea or not, but probably going to just pull the fuse to get by until I can replace the unit. hopefully it wont screw anything else up in the meantime.
