Hey everyone I have a 05 RumbleBee n I'm getting a funny smell from the vents with or without ac or heater on.. Its not a sweet smell (heater core) or a musty smell (mold) but almost like a chemical smell.. I'm not sure if its the AC coil in the air box leaking or what but the ac blows cold..p.s. the condensation drain line seemed to be clogged and not dripping as it should , I unplugged it today and the DRIPPINGS smelled like the chemical smell. It started a week ago.. NEED HELP..

I was going to suggest that you check the condensate drain for blockage. I believe you have found the problem.

I am not positive if this is a good suggestion, but, you might want to flush the passage out gently with a garden hose to flush out any debris out from the evaporator box where the drain is. I don't know for sure if taking out the blower motor will give you more access. You would have to check that out.

I think I saw somewhere recently that you can use a commercial cleaner that is used in commercial/residential systems to clean off the surfaces of the evaporator. If the surfaces that have to be cleaned are aluminum, you have to make sure that the chemical is safe to use on that surface!

Possibly, after the cleaning and drying of the surfaces, you might consider spraying some Lysol on the evaporator to kill any germs. Just a thought.
