Any of those metal tools will do serious damage to the plastic and painted dash parts in our Rams. They were primarily designed for older vehicles that use plastic interference-fit retainers. An actual late-model Chrysler trim removal tool is made of plastic for the catch-and-latch style retainers they now use..

Take a look on ebay for case cover removal tools, there are many you can find, get the plastic ones, they work very well for UN-clipping those vents and other parts that are clipped on, and since they are in plastic, there is less chance of scuffing them, just go easy on them you should be fine.
