Hello friends,
I'm new here, lots of great info. Thanks to all who contribute.
I'm looking to upgrade, I currently have an 11 F150 to tow my toys around but I'm interested in a 5th wheel toy hauler down the road. I recently drove a friends '13 2500 cummins and loved it. However, his 2500 lost its tranny 5 miles from the dealership. Dodge replaced it and he's happy, but from what I've read here if you are looking to add mods, the Aisin is the way to go. I can't leave anything stock and I've lost a tranny towing before so I'm sold on the Aisin option but I don't think I need a 3500 to tow a 5th wheel toy hauler. I also like the coil spring idea in the rear of the 2500's. Anybody know if the Aisin will be an option for the 2015 2500's or should I just go with the 3500 and have the ability to tow my house if I feel like it?

Depends on how big a 5er tow hauler you plan to get will determine whether you should get a 2500 or 3500. Keep in mind with a 5er, the pin weight is 20-23% of the weight of the trailer. So more payload is especially helpful for larger 5er's.

Get a 3500 SRW with the Aisin in 15...They'll have the supplemental air in rear by then. Have not heard if the Aisin will make it to the 2500 for new MY. The 68RFE is a reliable tranny overall. Just depends on what and how often you're towing.

Good suggestion. You can not have enough truck, but you can never have too much truck.
