Hey all.. first real post.. go easy on me LOL :4-looneynly had my truck about 10 days. (details in sig)

I can't seem to get my truck to arm the factory anti theft system. I tried what the user manual stated: with door open lock the doors using fob or switch on door, close door. the LED works because when I turn the key to the ON position to start the truck when the cluster does it's check and all the lights are on momentarily it does light up on the lower right of the cluster.

I have done this process a few times and can't get the red LED on the gauge cluster flashing or steady or whatever it's supposed to do

further to that. my rear back door actuators are failing (this is covered under warranty, I checked) .. I accidentally opened the rear door when all were supposed to be locked and got no horn honking or anything. normal? or abnormal?

I'm pretty sure that it has the option, I mean what the heck hasn't since the late 90's ?? lol on my options report I got at the dealer it lists: GXMS remote keyless entry with all secure (which I suspect is just the fob thingy AND GXXS sentry key theft deterrent system. I'm guessing the latter is the anti theft system?

please help.. I know this won't stop a thief but may deter night time window shoppers.

As far as I know, the theft deterrent system is not the actual entry security alarm, it's to demobilize the engine start if a valid keyfob is not detected. The actual alarm is an additional option. My recently traded 2010 sport had all the bells and whistles including remote keyless entry and theft deterrent system however I did not have the security alarm like my new 2014 has.

Not sure, I had that light as well and only ever saw it during startup. Note this is what my 2014 build sheet has on it:

Remote Proximity Keyless Entry
Remote Keyless Entry with All-Secure
Sentry Key Theft Deterrent System
Security Alarm

I believe what you are asking about is the security alarm which uses that red dash light.

well, that answers that then. my truck isn't equipped. funny really, considering it's likely just a programming check box in the PCM setup LOL

No problem, I actually just checked my 2014 to see if it actually works. Only had it a week. That little red light is impossible to see from outside the truck however I tested while inside and it works as described in the manual. I guess it's good to have however if someone really wants the truck they have ways to bypass all the security.
