so last night i went mudding. i got a little cocky. first i hadda blowout, then went home, started it up later, and BOOM! low voltage. thought it was the alternator b/c the battery was not chraging, so gotta new alt nd batt. still not working. any ideas? is it the fusible links? if so can i run a wire from the alt to the batt w/ a fuse in between? or is there a fuse module between the two?

Test the alternator output with a multimeter, then test the battery's charge voltage, finally test the voltage at the fuse box. If the fuse box is seeing the alternator's output voltage but the battery isn't, then it's probably a fuse issue; If the fuse box isn't seeing the alternator output then it's a fusable link issue. Yes, you can straight wire from the alt to the fuse box, just make sure you use 4ga or better with minimum 140amp fuse; or you can just straight wire it without the fuse, lots of people do it, but I highly recommend the fuse.
