Is there anyone around MA area that has access to a starSCAN tool to enable front seat video while in drive for me in my REN mygig radio.. Any help would be GREAT !
Anyone with a starSCAN tool ? !..

My understanding is even the StarScan won't enable video in motion. It only enables the 'show video' button, which is disabled in some states by law for ALL front seat video. If you have the 'show video' button in Park, then the StarScan won't help. You'd need a lockpick or allgig device to bypass this lock.
Just what I've heard though, so take it for what it's worth...
I just got my lockpick and fixing to install this weekend (was waiting for my front cam to arrive... now just to figure out where/how to mount the front cam)

Ohhhhh alright. I believe I do have that because when I am watching a video and put it in drive it goes away and sound stays. I was just hoping I could get around the $250 price for the lockpick just to enable video. Thx for the info tho

Keep your eyes open on Ebay. I got my lockpick (v4) for $185 w/free shipping. New in box. Working like a charm. Make sure you get the version4 for 2011+ I think (esp. for the RHB radios according to lockpick folks)

Yes, according to the site and details, it does work on 09 REN's

That's pretty sweet, I found out you can even have side cameras that come on when your blinkers come on, I was looking around at the lockpicks and had a quick question to. This would enable the ipod soft button on the screen as well correct ?

Not sure what you mean by iPod soft button. (I have the iPod interface already in my myGig via USB in the glove box - factory)
Yes, it will support up to three cameras (maybe four with factory cam???) and yes, you can do turn signal activation on two (left/right)
Mine works great, except for a few issues I've noted thus far:
1) NAV speed shows 0mph (I'm guessing this is to trick it so you can enter on the move)
2) When listening to iPod, it will switch back to the radio suddenly. Not often, but enough to drive you crazy (not sure if this is lockpick related or what - I don't know if I listened enough prior to putting in the lockpick)
3) It enables a VES button on the screen, which I don't need on (no rear VES system)
4) I'd like an option to easily 'turn it off' when dropping the vehicle off at the dealer for whatever. The TV and VES buttons kinda give it away.

With vehicle in park, put DVD in and press 'view video' on the screen. Now press the 'Audio' button on the unit. it will bring up the speaker balance & fade screen. You will still hear your DVD playing. Now put the vehicle in drive then press 'Done' on the screen and your video continues to play while going down the road.

Ipod soft button meaning ipod tab on the screen to appear. Do you know if there's a way I can just get that without the lockpick ?
And I tried that REN radio trick and it did not work I have an 09 Ram with REN and no successful results

I did hear of something like replacing the Uconnect module with a different Uconnect module to get the ipod usb in the glove box and I also heard it might be there already just hiding behind. The only usb I have goes to Uconnect for pics and music to install on the hard drive. I wish I could switch it to the ipod function

I have the newer RHB Mygig, it doesn't have an iPod softbutton, it just has the AUX where you can hit the 'devices' button to see everything attached, it's here where the iPod shows up.
Mine is only recognized through the glovebox USB port however.
Also, for my older iPod, I had to upgrade to the latest (well, several years old now) software in order for it to work (before, kept saying 'reading' then just dropped back to radio after about 3 minutes)
The only issue I have left now is that while listening to my iPod, it will randomly switch back to the radio out of the blue... I'm not sure if my lockpick is causing this or what. I can't seem to locate anything on the web about it. (Guess I'm going to have to pull the lockpick and test, darn dash disassembly again) :4-dontknow:
Also, the 'audio' button trick doesn't work on the '12 430n RHB's either ... hehe

But can you sort through the ipod on the RHB screen? that is what I'm looking to do
That's annoying that it switches back that would really annoy me after awhile
Our dash sucks to take apart lol.. does the outdoorsman have the center console or the seat ?

Yes, you can control the ipod fully through the touch screen (and steering wheel controls) - It shows the details for the song playing (but not album art for some reason)
Yes, the outdoorsman has the good 'ole center console/floor shifter - it's not too bad to take apart, but pulling those plastic retaining clips always make me nervous, and historically, makes the dash more prone to rattling.
I've done some research this evening and found that this is a problem with the lockpick others are having, but of course, they (coastal etech) 'haven't heard of this issue, must be the iPod'
Oh well, the only thing I really want is to be able to enter a darn address in to the NAV on the move... what a stupid 'safety feature' - especially since EVERY Garmin/Magellan/TomTom that are external do this...
(I'd also like to put in my front camera, but I'm holding off to see how this lockpick turns out - I may eBay/CL it )
