My driver side tail light stopped working until it was light outside enough to turn the automatic headlights off. I'm hoping to fix this myself so any ideas on where to start looking will be appreciated! Thanks!

The taillights turn off when the headlights do; you won't get a bulb out message without your lights on I don't think. Are you sure the bulb isn't just burned out?

To be honest I haven't checked, it seems to function normally during the day, at night I get the tail light out notification. If I'm driving home during dusk, the message will go on and off depending on how much daylight there is.

I will check the bulb just to eliminate the possibility of a burnt out bulb.

Thank you!

i know that my 2009 Ram tail light pigtail is charred on the drivers side
I have to change that tail light bulb about every 3 years
I have only changed the passenger side 1 time since 2009

Problem solved

I checked the bulb and yes, it was blown. Replaced it and everything is functioning normally.

I guess I just got mixed signals with that tail light message going on and off.

Mixed signals. Pun intended.

Thanks for everything, I know I'll be back, haha
