I have a 2017 power wagon
When I am driving on street or freeway in 2h. The dial is on axle unlock but the other 2 rear lock and front rear lock will blink on and off for a few minutes then go off. Then back to blinking...anyone seen this?

Thank you

Yep, diffs should only ever lock in 4 low unless you do the bypass mod

Hi irishmil,

If you decide to visit your local dealership for further diagnosis I'd be happy to offer assistance if needed. Just send us a PM with your VIN and let me know!

If this is true a few minutes after switching from 4LO locked to 2H unlocked, go to the dealer!

I've had the locker indicators blink for a minute or two after switching from 4LO locked to 2HI, sometimes it takes a bit of time for the axles to unlock. (If the gears are in a bind, they will not unlock) Try backing up and turning the wheel back and forth, this usually will free up the lockers. If not, go see the dealer!

In 4hi it is does blink and stay in unlock. The only time it locks the axles is in 4lo. Solid yellow above unlock means unlocked, flashing above the locks mean a it's trying or check the shift procedure in the owners manual. FYI pdf owner manuals are free at ramtrucks.com

Rear lock and front rear lock should not blink when dial is turned to unlock. When I am driving normal in 2h they latter two should not blink. Side note. I did try in 4lo and they still just blink even when dial turned to unlock

"During the command to lock the axle, the indicator light will flash until the axle is locked. After the lock command has been successfully executed, the light will remain on solid." -Owners manual

Axle lock only works in 4lo, I can make mine flash but its due to improper shift procedure and not a fault with the truck.

So far no luck with service. They don’t know why under normal driving the lights are blinking. They have a call into Chrysler and still waiting

Kind of related- my 2017 PW can be stubborn when locking in rear or front/ rear diffs, the lights will flash but any pressure on the gears it will not lock,I realize that conditions have to be good for it to shift but it’s quite touchy.

I've noticed the rears lock in pretty easy. The trick to getting the fronts to lock is to turn the steering wheel side to side and the fronts lock up.

2012 pw, I had the lights blinking and pulled front and rear diff covers, found mine to have small metal fragments built up on engagement magnet. Marked location of magnets, removed magnets and wiped off magnets, sprayed thoroughly (ring, pinion, lockers, everything) and cleaned with brake cleaner (I prefer O'Reilly's brand over others), recovered differentials (after drying of course (it is brake cleaner so it was fast), and filled with gear lube (I use royal purple). No issues to date, 50k+ miles (truck does get used for hauling way more loads and way to heavy for them sissy show diesels I see running around)

PS just shy of 160k

Pss didn't mean to bring up an old Post but did feel the need for a mention
