Started out hearing a ticking noise in a cold engine, which would then disappear. Got a recall notice (18V332000 concerning the cruise control) and decided to take it in for that and to check out a possible exhaust leak. Turns out the right side exhaust manifold had 2 broken bolts, and the manifold was warped 0.2 inches. Manifold was replaced, new bolts installed, and 2 recalls taken care of. All seemed fine. The very next day, the check engine light came on. We took it in and were told that something probably just needed to be reset after the previous work. They reset the codes, but as soon as we got it back, the check engine light came on, and the "eco" light was no longer working (when coasting). We took it back, and now they say a torque converter and front pump need to be replaced. Is this just a coincidence, or could have the work on the exhaust manifold, etc., have caused this problem?

I don't see how the exhaust manifold repair would do it, but depending on what flashes were done maybe one of them is just now showing a fault that was present but not showing before the flash - maybe - or just coincidence.
