ive been looking at mufflers for my ram but haven't quite found what im looking for right now im running the cherry bomb vortex but it doesn't have the sound I want, im looking for the old school muscle sound with a good rap to it. currently running summit racing headers no cat in 3" inlet dual 2.5" outlet. anybody running something they like. I did have a cherry bomb extreme on my 5.2 Dakota and it sounded good just not exactly what I want.

i have a thrush turbo, it does have a nice muscle car sound... of course i advanced the timing which aided in intensifying the sound. thrush is a cheap muffler 25 bucks, air flow is sufficient for the displacement.

Just installed a Flowmaster series 44 with resonator delete, and stock tips! :pepper: The pepper explains my satisfaction!

Thanks guys ive used thrush before and did not like it seemed a little small and didn't have enough rap but my brother was running dual thrush turbos on his 85 ramcharger and it seemed decent and i like the 44 but it is a little pricey for me i like the cherry bomb extreme but i am looking for something different before i do that.

I just remembered that I removed the CAT, so that is what attributes to my satisfaction when sound is concerned. That probably is not a viable option for you, assuming you're in an inspection state.

I just installed my "Bank's Monster" cat-back exhaust system. Love it!. No drone. Nice growl when accelerating hard. More torque too. I plane on buying their flash-programmer too soon. They are the leader in flow and developing power with diesels and now carrying that experience over to gass rigs.

Wisconsin inst an inspection state sides if it was my truck would never pass. Ha anyways ive never ran cats and if i did ive never ran a muffler too. And when did banks come out with gas systems? Cuz im running summit racing headers brand new jegs off road racing y-pipe mandrel bent tails pipes so all that's left is the dang muffler, ive sunk plenty of money(about 700$) into just my exhaust the wife will kill me if i spend more

What ever muffler you choose move it as close to the front of the truck as you can and make the pipe after it as long as you can it will deepen the sound and make it sound bad a**. I like the thrush tube style with the extended cab short box I have. I removed the cat and put the muffler in its place and straight pipe after it. If you looking for that nice raspy sound the real aggressive tone the best is no muffler at all. Plus it's the cheapest and lightest.

Well, what I did was I got a Thrush Glasspack for $20, dumped gas in it, caught it on fire, let it burn for like 10 mins, beat it with a hammer, ran water through it, put it on the truck, ran it, took it back off and sprayed water down it. Really nice sound! I might move it a little far up when I get a new y-pipe, but as is, it has a really nice rumble at idle and driving down the road. Sorry for the bum guys! I just had to share my story.
