When I pulled into my parking lot yesterday and it felt like the truck kind of slid when I turned. I didn't think much of it. I thought I just hit some oil or something. When I went to leave this morning I noticed that I have no steering at all. The steering wheel just spins all the way around in both directions without the wheels moving at all. I'm thinking I need to replace the steering gear box but I wanted to get other opinions to see if there is something else I should do first.

I also just noticed that the passenger side tie rod end is soaked with fluid. I don't know if that has anything to do with it or even where the fluid is coming from.

I figured it out. There's a set screw on the steering shaft where it connects to the steering box. Mine backed out a little bit over the years and it was letting my steering wheel spin around and around and around without moving the tires.
