Flew into Boise Saturday morning and after a couple hours at the dealership and 8 hours of driving through tumble weeds and bug splatters she made it home safely. Gave her a good bath and was going to wax but felt so much contaminants in the paint on the hood I decided to wait and get it clayed and polished by a local detail pro here. I assume it is rail dust as there was a fair amount of it still in the corner of the bed where you could see the lot attendant missed. Other than that very happy, the Pentastar was extremely happy with me punching down the pedal every so often. I swear that thing has more get up and go then my Sierra 5.3 V8...:smiley_thumbs_up:

The Pentastar matched with the eight speed transmission is a great combo. This combo has better power delivery then V-8 engines with four or five speed automatics from 6 to 10 years ago.

I am very happy with my Pentastar Ram Big Horn. I traded in a 2008 Ram with the 5.7 Hemi and I do not miss the Hemi at all power wise and fuel economy wise this Pentastar kicks the Hemi's rear end all day and night.

I think we have reached the point where the V-8 engines just no longer have an advantage over a V-6 with proper rear end gearing and these new eight speed automatics. I look for the V-8 to slowing start falling off in sales now that V-6 engines can deliver.

I understand where you're coming from but that will never happen. Up here in the north east the roads are hilly, the snow is deep, the back roads are muddy.....AND a lot of us tow over 6000 pounds as we have a lot of toys for every season (sleds, 4 wheelers, campers, boats). The low end of a Hemi/V8 is needed. A lot of trucks sold are fleet trucks too....which are pretty much always v8's.

BTW....when I'm not towing anything my 8speed Hemi is averaging 20 MPG on the back roads here in Maine.......not too shabby...

Yea, coming from a '99 Sierra this Pentastar took off like a rocket in comparison. A nice bonus from a truck that averaged 21 mpg including 2 mountain passes and a very gusty headwind at times. Fun to watch the mpg gauge range from 9 mpg up the pass to 90 plus going down the pass...:Wow1:

Beautiful truck indeed

If you washed the truck with some reasonable soap (no PineSol or something) - and you find the finish or paint texture still a little air pollution janky - a safe, effective product is Meguiars Cleaner Wax.
Be sure and get a micro-fiber APPLICATOR and never use the vaginal sponge included under the lids on your paint.
Use a 100% cotton towel to remove the wax, make sure there is no nylon, polyester, wool or any synthetic fibers in the towel - those could scratch the paint.

Looks nice. Quick question, your big horn looks like it is sitting low. Is that the air suspension?

I just picked a big horn up as well, and am new to Ram, and was just wondering. I do not have the air suspension.
Yes, it is the air suspension at entry/exit mode. Having a blast with this feature

That's cool. Does it let you drive in a lowered or raised stance whenever you want? Or is it limited to parking and or slower speeds?
The entry/exit mode will work when stopped or up to 10mph I believe. I usually use it when I am pulling in somewhere to park, that way it is all the way down by the time I stop the truck.

When you take off it will stay down until you hit around 10mph and then go into level 2 until you hit freeway speed around 60mph, then it drops into aero ride which is about a 1/2" drop between 1 and 2.

Level 3 and 4 are for off road use so I have not experimented yet with them too much. When I was driving the truck home from the dealer I was pushing all kinds of buttons and hit the off road level by accident...it would not allow me to go into that level while on the freeway, I know that.

The entry/exit mode sure comes i handy when washing the truck and also for getting stuff in and out of the bed.
