I have a 2012 Longhorn Laramie dually 3500 6.7 turbo diesel. For a couple of years now my dash gauges have flickered, sometime for very short periods, others for hours. Gauge dimmer seems to help at times but not always. Have tried all recommended fixes to no avail. Last week the light on my radio system as well as back up camera went black screen. Checked all fuses and tried hard reset and still blank. Flickering continues on gauges.
This problem is not unique and has been the complaint of hundreds if not thousands of RAM owners with the same problems, whether it be the flickering or the radio issues. RAM seems to believe that if they ignore the problems we will go away. It is time for RAM to realise we will go away but not just from the issues but from buying another RAM. Spending 60-80K on a vehicle which seems to have a solid track record of faulty gauges (flickering) as well as radio issues is not right.
Has RAM not done anything to rectify the issues or issued recalls for what is a truly a defect through no fault of the consumer?

Thanks GTyankee, much appreciated. will read through the various messages. Nothing I have tried so far has helped. Battery one at a time disconnected (maybe both should be at same time but led to believe should not disconnect both) checked all fuses, dimmer etc grrrrrrr just so annoying that RAM cannot finally sort out issue.

Hi Hydrasport,

Sorry to hear about this! You can try performing a soft reset of you Uconnect system:

1) Put your vehicle into the accessories mode (ACC or RUN) For keyless start (push-button) vehicles: push the start button twice without having your foot on the gas or brake pedal
2) Hold down the Phone and voice recognition buttons (or tuner and volume knob), at the same time, for thirty seconds.
3) Let go of the buttons
4) Turn vehicle off
5) Open driver’s side door for thirty seconds (or until dash illumination goes black)
6) Close door
7) Restart vehicle
8) Let the media center load up and see if concern is still present

If you end up deciding to visit your local dealership for further diagnosis I'd be happy to offer assistance if needed. Just send us a PM with your VIN and let me know.

Hello Andrea,
I was curious I’ve got a 2013 Ram 1500 that I just recently replaced the radio because the old one fried during an update. My service trailer brake system code came up just shortly after having the new radio put in and just since last night I’ve been experiencing a delay on the screen coming on after I start the truck. Usually about a 1-2 min delay then the radio comes on like everything is fine. I’m just curious if this is something fixable or if there’s more of an underlying issue at hand.
Thank you.
