I have had a Road Armor bumper on the front of my truck for about a year now and a 3"body lift since I took delivery. The brackets that came with the bumper allow for a little play in the height(about an inch) What can I do or put in the gap to close the nastyness that is stuck under my headlight and above the bumper. Right now I have it lifted as far as the brackets will let me. In my opinion it looks unfinished and it bugs me every time I look at it. Ideas?
(Feel free to make tire size recommendations too, mine are too small:doh:)

Honestly, I'd take the body lift out and keep the tires you have. I hate a body lift but I love the Road Armor.

I am glad to see someone posted on this as I am looking at a Road Armor for my Ram, but I wasn't aware of this issue! I will keep an eye on this thread. Thanks!

@ icOVERu- I would buy from fabFours or buck stop. The customer service @ road armor is one of the worst I have had to deal with. I originally ordered the part from 4wheelonline.com when it was selling for $500 b/c they were no longer a buyer. Road Armor called me and informed me that I was going to have to pay an additional $1000 because the bumper I ordered from the other website was yet to be manufactured. So all in all I paid $1500 instead of the original $500(which was a steal if they had stuck to it). FabFours makes a higher quality product although I am not fond of the thin tubing they use. I welded schedule 40 pipe on mine(hints the ugly welds that dont have bondo yet)

@ Remerson228-I dont like the look of a body lift either but the dealer said it was the only way to lift the truck without voiding the power train warranty. I don't really want to jeopardize that lifetime warranty. Before the lift the tires looked really good though.

WOW, thank you so much. I have looked at Buck Stop but I wasn't as impressed as with Road Armor. I hear your advice so I guess I am back on the market for an aggressive front bumper.

Tough Country has a nice blend between the Road Armoresque bumpers and Ranch Hand. If you want an aggressive bumper that takes no prisoners then this might be the one http://www.reunel.com/front_bumper.html or try AliArc. AliArc makes semi bumpers and they use thick aluminum. They look pretty standard but they are super light and have a beautiful finish. Not to mention they are every bit as strong as any competitor.

You have to get a road armor or whichever bumper you want that is made for trucks with a body lift. You can probably sell your bumper to someone who does not have a body lift. Paris? Then you can buy the one for a body lift that you need. Best route for you bud.

Why would I ship a bumper to France? That would cost me more than buying a new bumper. WELL...if anyone is interested I guess I could sell it. I dont meet the posting reqs to sell anything on here yet but in a few days I think I will. I hate getting rid of it b/c its sooo cooolll. I feel like I'm driving an urban assault vehicle.

Hahahaha Paris is Icoveru's name. You dont need to ship it to France buddy.

I really like the bumper man looks awesome! I was thinking of getting one as well. I do not know but there is body lifts that have bumper brackets that raise the bumper. I do not know if your kit came with that or not. I guess there is also bumpers that are made for body lifts, but I did not see any different ones when I was looking.

Take a look at the Zone body lift. They have the brackets to raise your bumpers, front and rear. I guess see if they can sell you just those components.

I looked at the body lifts and the stock bumper has a different bracket than mine. I'm thinking of using C channel, cutting it to fit and drilling some holes in it. I don't like adding another component(that could fail) to something that is supposed to protect my engine but its 1/4" thick so I think it should be strong enough. Would tempering it make it better or do I want deformation in an accident? Unfortunately, my drill press is 800 miles away..so the waiting begins. Only a month till I can fabricate it.

I really like your bumper, too. Just out of curiosity, is it as heavy as it looks? Guess I tuned in to this thread due to a gap I have in my bumper. It's not terrible, enough to drive me crazy though, so I'm interested to see what you come up with as well

Hello GT, I guess I should introduce myself. My name is Paris, no joke...and no, I don't do adult films and stand to inherit millions! Would be nice though!

With the winch it comes to ~220 lbs, so I guess it depends on how heavy you think it looks. Its 1/4 in throughout(I changed it from factory specs) so its takes two people to put it on. Its more awkward than anything.

Thank you!

Um..lol the whole porn star thing never entered my mind but thanks for clearing that up. I wish I had a million dollars, I'd be able to buy my Aston Martin DBS. :head3: One day I hope my truck looks as good as yours, I really like the billet fuel door.

Thank you. I purchased the billet fuel door off ebay after ANOTHER member here had it. They average between $50-$65.
