I recently purchased a new 2013 Ram 3500 dually with the fifth wheel package. I comes with five holes in the bed and integral structural cross-members for the hitch. This is supposed to give you the ability to remove or install the hitch quickly. Plastic plugs are provided to cover the holes when the picture frame/hitch assembly are removed. To install a fifth wheel hitch you need a Mopar part that is NOT AVAILABLE YET. P/N 82213667, they call this a "picture frame" and commercially available fifth wheel hitches will supposedly connect to this "picture frame". I was not made aware of this when I bought my truck and was definitely not told the part was not available. It was supposed to be released around 3 June and now they are saying maybe in July. So I have a ~$60,000 truck in my driveway and a new ~$77,000 fifth wheel and I cannot use them. Very frustrating. Anyone have an experience with this?
