I have been reading this cai evaluation in hopes of making a well informed decision.could someone tell me what a oiled filter is, and why or why not i would want one. Thanks in advance

An oiled filter is just that, its a filter with oil on it. Some manufactures use an oiled filter to help trap dirt above and beyond the trapping capabilities of the filter element itself. Some people like them others don't. I have never had an issue with them, but some report that the oil has fouled their AIT sensor, thus causing issues. It may be due to the user over oiling the filter element.
