I have been a forum member here for a little while now and own a 2010 dodge ram sport.

My older brother just purchased a 2008 big horn 4wd, traded in his ford after seeing my truck, i consider that a win in my book! since he doesnt have the time to get onto a computer, i thought i would help him out and ask members here what is the best leveling/lift kit for a 2008.

what are the problems you have or have had? how is the ride? leveling shocks? pics? anything pertaining to a 2008 4WD Dodge Ram lifted or leveled would be great.

I just installed a set of Firestone Level-Rite Air shocks last night because I just bought a new Western MVP Plus 8'6" V-Plow that weighs about 1000 pounds. I am sold on these shocks. If you want to be able to carry more weight in the front these are the easiest fix. They aren't cheap though. I got mine at etrailers.com for $489 which is the cheapest I could find. They are basically a Bilstein Shock with a compact air spring. They are the best out there from what I've heard. I am a huge fan of bags so my opinion may be a little biased. The ride is great! I think it is alot better than it was with the stock shocks. I will post pictures tomorrow.

I am going to add the Firestone Ride-Rite Bags in the rear with the on-board Air management system, Gauges, rocker switches, 3 Gal air tank which will be mounted under the truck on the frame. Also there will be 2 spots to hook up an Air hose on the front and back concealed. Just some Ideas for you.

If you do get these "DO NOT" compress the shocks more than 1" prior to installation you risk messing up the Bags. I got lucky!

As promised here are some pictures before and after the Level-Rite Air Shocks

Ok there is a big difference between a lift and level. This totally depends on what he wants to spend. If you want to just level it then use the Bilstein 5100s to do it. You get great shocks and a level all in one. Definitely the best way to level out the front of the truck.

If you want to lift the truck then go with a 6" since the 4" will cost pretty much the same. If you do lift it then go with Superlift, Fabtech or BDS since they are the best quality ones out there. Dont cheap out and go Rough or Tough Country. They dont even come with proper instructions, thats how cheap they are. Dont cheap out on parts for your truck, not a smart thing to do.

is that 2.5 in front and nothing in back or 1.5 in back?

I know there is a big difference, i guess what im looking for is what other people have done so i can give him his options. he had been told that with a leveling kit, while driving there is a wobble, ive never heard this unless you have a lift kit. Plus trying to find out what size tires he can fit. I've read 33x12.5x20's or so. I'm not sure how much he is looking to spend but he is jealous of my truck with a 6" lift on it so he may try to 1up me for all i know. lol hopefully he doesn't because I dont want to have to go that much higher on my lift
