I'm looking to put a camshaft in my 1998 5.2l v8 and i was looking at a hydraulic roller with around a .500 give or take on intake/exhaust and around a 265 duration. With these specifications should I need to replace anything else like valve springs and what not? Thanks.

Yeah, replacing the springs will need to happen. Check the pushrod length as well; you may need to change those, too.

Definitely change springs, the stockers will never hold up. Definitely upgrade the pushrods. Stock length should be okay, but you definitely want stronger ones. The added lift vs heavier spring loads will induce flex in the stockers. That's the last thing you need as the rpm's rise. I'd also add hardened valve spring retainer locks. It's cheap insurance. Also, expect to need computer mods. Sounds like CompCams Xtreme Energy XR265.
