So here's my problem. When I go over bumps you can hear a knocking noise. SO I threw the truck up on some stands and started to give things a look. If you cycle the steering by pushing on the driver's side wheel there is no problem. But when you do it from the passenger side you can see the rack actually move. I have to imagine that it's just a bad bushing since there doesn't seem to be any other issues driving down the road other than the super annoying knocking sound.

I called the dealership and they said I have to buy a whole rack assembly. Is that right? Does anyone know a way to get around having to drop $2k? Stupid coronavirus has me with no income right now and I don't have the $2k because of it.

Hey Jason,

I regret to hear of the trouble you are experiencing with your truck. I understand that you are reaching out to fellow forum members on this, but I want you to know that we are more than happy to connect you with a specialist for further support if you do address this with your dealer. Our team is always a private message away!

I'm sure a machine shop can make new ones, similar to the rack and pinion on my side-by-side UTV. Likely be made with better materials too.
