I hope this question is not too dumb or obvious.

So, my cargo light does not work. Specifically the one in the third brake light. The two lights installed on the side of the bed back by the tailgate work fine.

The cargo camera and the third brake light also work just fine. The only thing in that housing that doesn't work appears to be the white cargo light. Does not illuminate with switch in cab or when unlocked (both the other tailgate ones work fine in those situations).

Any help would be appreciated. Connectors to look for being undone, or fuses, etc?

Does the orange indicator light up when you press the button? A lot of people have mistook the fog light button for the cargo button. Also, for some reason certain circumstances require me to press my cargo button twice to turn on the lights.

Yep, orange indicator comes on normally in the instrument cluster when the light cargo lights are manually turned on. 2 tail gate ones come on normally, but the over head (third brake housing) does nothing.

Hi scottyb,

Sorry to hear about this! If you decide to visit a certified dealership for further diagnosis I'd be happy to offer assistance if needed. Just send us a PM with your VIN and let me know.

I'm not familiar with the LED setup, but the 3rd brake light is prone to leaking on many pickups. Many members have removed the lens covering and applied a weather strip kind of gasket to prevent leaking.

I tried sending you a pm, but my account does not have enough posts to send to you. Perhaps you could send me one and I could reply?

Unless Chrysler changed the 3rd brake light bulbs to LEDs from my 213 Longhorn you don't have LED unless you put them in. Maybe Chrysler forgot to install the bulbs or if you installed LED maybe the pins are reversed?

I can assure you it is both LED and Factory. Here is the page from the manual on replacement bulbs.

Has anyone found the fix for cargo light not working. My 06 2500 has been out for a while. When I push the cargo light power button I get an on indication on my instrument cluster but no lights. Bulbs are good. The only thing I haven't checked are the connections on the back of the instrument cluster. I was told that the cargo light gets its power from the cluster.

You are in the 4th gen section which is for 2010-current 2500s. Try posting in the 3rd gen section:
