I am hoping that I can get some of your guys advice/opinion!
I'm heading to Myrtle Beach in a few weeks. The hotel we are staying at has limited parking so who knows where I'll have to park my new truck (I usually park very far away from everyone). So I can either drive my truck there and see what happens with parking it for a week OR drive my girlfriends car (a much less comfortable yaris) and leave mine at my apartment complex for a week. I can't decide!!

Have a good night boys,
Mo

You bought a 40 something thousand dollar truck to leave it at home and take a yaris.... ya hard decision there :susel:
If the hotel had valet then do that. When the Wynn scratched my BMW in vegas they fixed all the damage and gave me a free week in a suite.

If all else fails its a truck do what you can to park away and dont worry about it. And don't be like the douche I seen tonight at Buffalo Wild Wings
he parked right in front and had 2 tires in the planter so he could have 3 feet from his drivers door to the car next to him.

If the hotel he is staying at has limited parking it probably has a parking at your own risk policy. I can see why he is concerned.

I would vote for taking the girlfriend's car. Less chance for dings for your truck in a crowded area. Plus I would avoid the salt air if you can. I use to go to Cocoa Beach Florida and you could see the damage from the salt air on about everything but then again I'm kind of anal about my truck too, so what can I say.

If say do some research first, check out the parking situation via google earth. If it looks like there are some decent spots there then take the truck. I'm paranoid as well since other people really don't give a rats ass about anyone else's property.

You bought it to drive it. Take it. Valet it or park the best you can. It's going to get dinged eventually - you might as well enjoy it on a trip when it happens, rather than out getting groceries.

Always drive the most appropriate vehicle for the situation. I often have to go places with limited or tight parking and I do not take my truck to those places. It isn't about getting dings, it is about being able to park or, perhaps more importantly, being able to get back out of a tight parking spot later. I have, in the past, parked way far out only to return later to find cars parked all around me and it being nearly impossible to extract my truck from my parking spot.

Thanks for the feedback! I did call the hotel again to get a little more clarification and they said do have some spots on site (limited) and a garage that they own which is about a 10 minute walk. I checked out google maps and it didn't look terrible, but still not sure. I have about 10 days to make the decision. More feedback welcome!

So true. I cannot believe the amount of inconsiderate people that walk around this country today.

I would not take a brand new truck to Myrtle Beach. That place is crowded and filled with wild groups out to have a good time (sounds like my kinda place...lol). I took my family there in 2010 and was worried about my rental getting dinged. Take the Yaris.

Decided to go with the Yaris. Not only is it a heavily populated spot, but we were told that a lot of teeny bopper high school kids go there after school is out and that is exactly the time we are going. Thanks for the help guys!

There is a private parking garage near the Pavilion area I believe which is close to the "Ripley 's." I would drive the truck.
