The build is coming along very nicely. I admit that I have skimmed in areas, do you plan to paint the entire truck the "snake skin green" color? If so, that is going to look awesome!

I guess I can throw an update on here since some things have been going on. The truck's been parked since August when I finally blew the trans after 3 years of abuse

I'm rebuilding the trans under the direction of a friend that's a Chrysler tech. Learning a lot about the trans and how it actually works rather than the "torque goes in, black magic happens, usable torque comes out" that I understood before.

I managed to warp not just the clutches but one of the planetary gear carriers, something my friend had never seen before. I had to order some other parts that we weren't expecting like the reactive carrier that was warped so it'll be a few weeks before it gets reassembled.

I also decided to get a new torque converter that properly matches my build rather than the N/A circle-D converter I had before that did not behave the way it should with the blower. I ended up getting a new Circle-D 258 multi-disk with a 3200-3400 stall that I'll have in a few weeks. That set me back more than I would have liked but it'll be a huge improvement when I get driving it again.

It's been a long a cold winter, luckily I have the shop and I'm slowly setting it up properly to do all my new hobbies, like the new wood working area in the back with router table, chop saw stand, drill press area, and it's all plumbed into vacuum lines so the dust is minimal which is really nice. It took some doing to get it all done and setup and during that process it was dust as hell, the truck is covered and has been for months now but it has no diffs in it right now so not much can be done about it.

The best part about the new wood working area is I have been able to work on my rear subwall which has been a great learning experience. Lots of credit goes to Car Audio Fabrication for all the great DIY techniques. If you have any interest in building car audio systems this guy's videos are top notch and very informative.

Here it is all ready for vinyl, just letting the resin cure for 24hrs before painting the inside of the box then installing the Acrylic panels and LED lighting.

I got it placed into the back of the cab so I can start laying out where the amps and processor will go, not certain on final placement yet but I have 3 different layouts at the moment so we'll see how is end up looking.

I also received my rear diff back from my buddy who was doing the gear swap for me; still waiting for the front diff but with the rear I'll at least be able to get mobile again on nice weather days. 4.56s with the 3400 stall converter will make for a fun around-town drive.

Well
Finished the job today

Batteries are fully installed. I couldn't get the firewall bushings to work, not enough room on the ribs of the bed floor so I resorted to good old grommets.

Grounds were right under the box. I drilled and taped the frame and cleaned off the paint. Bolted right into the frame, I can't get a better ground without welding directly to the frame.

Installed the Moroso shut off in the roll pan.

Battery is now out of the engine bay, the space was then used to install the new wiring. I also installed a ground distribution block to simplify any future underhood mods. The bolt you see is connecting the alternator to the distribution block, and it's sticking up far enough that I can get a jumper cable on it if ever required.

Wired right up to the alternator and runs all the way back to the batteries in the box.

Here's the mostly cleaned up wiring with my auxiliary fuse block.
Done! I'm a bit worried about moving the air box so I'm thinking of locating it in my toolbox in the bed. I have brackets for under the hood but also bought a water tight one to mount in toolbox...wish me luck! Haha. 2014 dodge ram 1500 hemi sport
