My friends S10 died awhile ago, they're now scrapping it. We plan to put his subs in his Taurus.

My question is do i need to discharge the cap for removal? Then re-charge for installation? The S10 also hasn't been ran in while, so the cap might not be all the way full.

subs? I get. I've never had to deal with a Cap since I've never needed it.

I can also Ground the amp at the capacitor too, right? as long as the capacitor is properly grounded( it will probably be at the battery.)

if i need to charge or discharge, what size resistor would i need? I'm not sure how many Farads it is.

Scrap the cap along with the S10. They are a waste.

The amount of energy a capacitor holds relative to its size is absolutely comical!!!
It takes 30 capacitors to maintain 13.5 volts for a split second...THIRTY!!!
The power of THIRTY capacitors wired parallel to each other is equal to TWELVE 9v alkaline batteries! Thats how pointless they are
Wire up the capacitor and place the positive and negative onto your tongue.... You can hold it there...you cant do that with a single 9v battery! Why? Cause the 9v can hold 2-3 times more power

haha they S10 is being scrapped. for Sure. we already removed everything, but have not installed yet.

And certain? thats about the opposite of everything I've heard about a capacitor.

Im running four amps at the moment, have not done the "big 3", and have not replaced my battery since new...2011 Ram 2500, 65k miles. My lights never dim during normal listening levels, but faintly dim at very high volume on bass heavy tracks... Its not enough to bother me though. My head unit displays volts, truck produces 14.3-14.4 volts all day, even at idle.
The volts have never dropped into the 13's, ever
A capacitor is an unnecessary link in the chain

The cap belongs in a huge metal box, preferably a trash bin, not needed, band aid
