Has anyone installed the clearence cab lights on their 1500? These are the orange lights found on the roof of most Ram 2500+ trucks, I was looking at a set from mopar and getting them lightly tinted.

pics would be awesome if anyone has done this install.

Show us some pix, including the inside roof, where you have to drill & where you run the wiring

i did do this on a 3rd gen 1500. Found exact spacing on line taped it all out on the roof got ready to drill..... Dropped the head liner and it was all layed out for me. It was a real simple job after you drop the headliner. Just ran a trigger wire down A piller and tagged it to the parking lts.I spent about 30 minutes on line finding spacing and location, about 45 min taping and laying out only to find dodge did it for me soooo. if u want clearance lts pull headliner down first might be alot easyer than you think!! Good Luck

I got a set of Recon smoked lenses for a Christmas present, so I'll have mine on before too long. I've read that you need to be liberal with the sealant, leaking is my only concern.

I don't know the LED style yet, otherwise I'd have ordered some cool white LEDs to try as well.

There is a youtube video of a guy installing his on a 3rd Gen, but more or less same thing. He actually does a nice tutorial.

He also cracks me up a little.

The difference is that the 2nd and 3rd gen's had the same cabs on them as the 1500's, now that they are different it probably won't be laid out. After adding them to my 2nd 2500 I would definitely advise on liberal amounts of sealant, the best being the Loctite gasket sealant in the pressurized tube. Simply trace around the bottom of the light itself (not on the cab) to form a gasket on the base of the light, then apply sealant to the underside of the heads of the screws you'll be using to keep junk from coming through the threads.
