ok ive always had this clicking noise, but i dont know what it is

its on the passenger side front fender
its up about 6 inches from the horn
its almost right next to where my aem brute force intake sits along the fender there

it has 2 tubes running along the fender to the firewall

its a plastic cylinder with cap on it, maybe about 4 inches tall

anyway i was letting my truck idle the other day (its stored during winter)
got it to running tempature, revved it up a couple times and this little cylinder thing starting clicking

my truck has always done this, ive never had any motor issues with it doing this

my question is what is it? why does it click? what does it do?

It vents over pressure from reculation evap and emmision system. No it dsnt need repair. It clicks as it vents. If the system has an issue it will kick on check engine light

And the 2 tubes actually go to the charcoal canister mounted to frame under bed or cab. Mines under back of cab
