I just bought some smoked spyder halo projectors with LEDs for my 2011 Ram 1500 not too long ago and it didn't come with the CCFL inverter. Do I need the the Inverter or will the rings be bright enough as they should be without it? Also if I were to get a HID kit I heard that I would need to get a couple Ballasts and error code eliminators for the bulbs, is that true? But if I were to go with Halogens would I still need the Ballasts and error code eliminators? I'm just wondering what extra components I need to get them up and running. :4-dontknow: Thanks :wavey:

Question, are the halo rings ccfl or LED? The red and black wire on the bottom should just be able to be hooked into power and all the LEDs/rings should work just fine. If the rings are ccfl be aware that they may not work properly in the cold, I've run 2 sets of ccfl now and below -20 they always had issues.

If you go with HIDs they will come with their own ballasts, everything will come as a kit. Code eliminators are required only depending on the kit you buy, some require them, some don't.

well to my knowledge they are CCFL but they could be LED cause i ordered them through someone else, maybe he ordered the wrong ones. how can i tell if they are LED or CCFL?

Connect power to the wires and see how it goes, only way to know for sure.

Just went and hooked them up and there was a continuous glow in the rings so they are CCFL so ill need a inverter to put some more juice in them. but its weird how the wires are red and black because all the other CCFL headlight wires i saw were white and had plug on them.

Was there a 'hot spot' at the top or bottom of the ring? The spyder website was useless, so I can't offer too much on the installation.

so I did some more research (sorry i didn't do this before) and I found out the halos are LEDs which is Crappy because i got the matching smoked taillights.:doh:
Im now thinking on returning them and getting the spyder CCFL halos in black cause i couldn't find any smoked ones with CCFL halos in them. idk if that'd like dumb though with non matching headlights and taillights, any opinions on that?
But after i decide im going to go with 6000k halogen for the low beam and 6000k HID for the high beam with a switchback LED turn signal.
