Yup....disconnect the battery for awhile....30 minutes is the recommended time....but there is a short cut.

Remove the negative cable and touch it on to the positive cable of a second or so. This will ensure the residual power is completely drained so you can re-connect right away without having to wait. :)

Keep in mind, this clears all codes, and the computer will have to re-learn all the sensors, so the truck will run a little strange until it gets all the data it needs. It is recommended that after resetting, let it idle for 5 minutes, take for a short drive in town, and 10 miles on the highway with at least 2 complete stops, and 1 acceleration at WOT. That should give it all the data it needs to be happy.

What benefits does it give you to reset the computer?
I installed American Racing Headers and I'm getting codes that no one else has gotten on this forum before. Hoping resetting the computer will fix it.
