My truck being at a hard 250K, my balljoints are on their way out ... I have a 2010 4.7 4x4 … I was talking to the local dealership about getting them and they told me that OEM control arms are aluminum and that pressing out the ball joints would warp the control arms so the whole control arm needs to be replaced and not just the ball joint.

Does anyone know if this is true? Has anyone heard of such a thing? I have looked at rockauto and you can get either control arms with ball joints or just the ball joints themselves.

If the dealership is correct, does anyone have suggestions on what metal control arms to get that you can press out the ball joints if I have to replace them again?

Thank you guys for the read and suggestions!

From what I've read on here people would replace them rather then mess with the stock ones. Mecotec is the brand that seems popular in here.

Well...they're definitely stamped or cast steel depending on the year but yes for the cost and difficulty you may as well replace the arms. Mevotech and Moog are good
