Thinking of doing my own custom design to my exhaust with a summitracing universal kit. welding straight from the CATS and angling right out just behind the front wheels. Your thoughts?

I don't know...every time I see an intake or exhaust device with the spiral or propeller designed elements in them, I think of the many snake oil devices that have come and gone that many of us have seen over the years. Now, that doesn't mean this muffler is in that category, but I don't think I even saw Moroso claiming this design to increase power on their site. I think it obviously would compared to an OEM muffler, but if it didn't improve performance over a straight-through design like the Magnaflow or Borla, I think all you get is more noise. But...that's what some want, so it may be a good candidate for that. I doubt it hurts power, because it looks like it still has a straight-through component inside the body with that spiral deal going on around the central tube. I noticed on many of the reviews that it was on a lot of the smaller engined fast-and-furious type cars.

I did find a pretty good YouTube vid of one on a Dodge pickup, so check it out. It sounded good when the guy pulled out of the driveway and got on it, but it was way too loud for my taste. People are different.

Ya i totally understand where your coming from. I just NEEDED a muffler so that way its not just the CATS then tailpipe straight out. Since the resignator is also being removed. All the mufflers are to big to fit in that tight spacing i believe or to long. I thought of this because its small short and may reduce the noise a bit. The performance part will come through the X design compared to the SMASHED y pipe stock pipes. Also it will give it a look no other dodge ram has on the road.

Any way you do it, with a small straight through (or similar) muffler, and short pipes, it's going to be LOUD. Especially with it exiting in from of you, it will be very loud.

Well thats GOOD! if it were up to me id put it straight through. But ive been told i gotta have some sort of muffler for inspection purposes. Right now i have no muffler. cut off the stock mammoth muffler and welded a piece of 3 inch pipe as a replacement. But still has the resonator at the end. So if i do this design i will have nothing but the CATS. So thats why i figures i'd throw these moroso spiral flow mufflers under there.

BTW it sounds AMAZING with just a piece of 3inch pipe replacing the muffler. FELL IN LOVE WITH THE SOUND

Sounds good! So that's stock with a straight pipe in place of the muffler? Doesn't even sound excessively loud IMO. I think I'll be very happy with a magnaflow. I wish mine would spin the tires on good pavement :(

lol, well with the stock tires I could turn them over, but with these coopers they grip a lot better, and they are heavier. Sometimes they spin, sometimes they don't, all depends on the pavement. I can't wait to have the stall in and know it'll spin every time :).
