Does anyone know of any SOLID production numbers? The ones I have seen are ALL over the map! I have read that there was only 10k made (5k of each color) yet there are trucks numbered into the 11k range. I haven't seen any above 11k though.

I guess my question is more of.....at the end of the year when they stopped production, did Dodge come out and say XXX Silver ones and XXX Go Mango were produced?

I found this on one website

There were just over 10,000 Dodge Ram Daytona made. They were available in Bright Silver Metallic and Go ManGo Orange in both Single and Quad Cab with 4x2 and 4x4 versions.
Proof that more than 10,000 were produced is I own #10731, which was born on July 28, 2005. This appears to be the last days of the 2005 production line and may in-fact be one of the last if not the last Daytona produced.

Dodge no longer sets production limits for two reasons, first; if it sells, sell it and second; Dodge has had issues with Rumble Bee owners after producing a larger swarm than had been advertised and than a second swarm the next year. Since that incident, Dodge has refused to release the number of "Limited" quantities to be produced or even acknowledge said quantities post production.

from another site

The Ram Daytona will be available with either a 4x4 or 4x2 drivetrains and in regular cab or Quad Cab body style. The regular cab will have a molded side sill while the Quad Cab includes a running board. Only two colors will be offered: Go Mango, which is a burnt orange shown in our photos, or Silver Metallic. These colors will also accent the center bezel on the dash and highlight the instrument panel. Other interior features include premium cloth seating and Daytona monograms in the headrests and floor mats.

Included in the Daytona package will be the 5.7-liter Hemi engine, 5-speed automatic transmission and 3.92:1 rear axle ratio.

“This was a cooperative effort between product planning and marketing together with the technical department,” explains Eberhart. “More and more, we actually bring Mopar Performance into the fold. In the Daytona, a lot of parts are Mopar engineered.”

Like the Rumble Bee, the Daytona will be a limited edition and feature a numbered plaque on the dash. However, Dodge officials have not set the production number. Owners of Rumble Bees have filled Internet forums with complaints that production of that limited edition exceeded the advertised 3700. However, Eberhart steadfastly denied that there was any overrun.
“We built exactly what we said we were going to build,” says Eberhart. “Otherwise you lose the draw you get with these (limited edition) vehicles.”

another website seems to have a break down of Daytonas by color & cab type

about the limited edition Rumble Bee
Many Rumblebees were maybe being built by Dealerships, they were not part of the FACTORY production run, there were only 3700 2004 year models built by the factory, but, there are over 9,800 Rumblebees 2004 & 05 year models with all the proper identification. There was a law suit filed against Chrysler for doing an over run

I found that same information....but have seen them numbered into the 10k-11k range.
I have also been told that the plaque's do not follow a straight numbering system; 1, 2, 3, etc. But a pattern of where they fell in at the assembly line. So, just because there is a Daytona numbered in the 11000's doesn't mean it was the 11000th Daytona edition.

Most places I see the numbers listed, come up with the 8,698 numbers shown above. So I am 1 of 627, 1 of 1 incorporating both Go Mango and Metallic Silver...

I forget which Special Edition Dodge Ram 1500, i think it was either Daytona, Rumble Bee or SRT 10, had a hidden verification under the passenger seat. It was likely under the carpeting
