Hello All,
So some background on the issue... about 1 month ago someone attempted to remove my Catalytic Converter (without consent) and luckily only was able to cut through one side of the line. I was able to drive it to a shop and they rewelded the part and we are all good with that.
Except...
When driving the exhaust was lowered and blew on the DEF line below in the frame melting a pin hole in it that then allowed DEF to leak out like a fountain when driving. I have been unable to purchase the part due to supply chain issues for a month now. (Part Number 68353829AE)
I then took it to a shop that does hose and tubing where they attemted to fix it using brass parts which is a no no and also cut clean through the internal cable which I am guessing is to heat the DEF.
So... my question is what to do now? I have called dealerships all over the US and each one that has the part in stock claims its for a customer.
Does anyone know the part number for the cable that is in the DEF line?
I am getting desperate and thinking about rewiring the part, replacing the heat shielding, and using a stainless steel tubing coupler.
