i just got my DS intune today. but i cant install it yet because im buying my truck monday. i wanted to have it when i got the truck, but im still waiting on dmv to get the title to the dealer. the truck isnt in my signature yet, but its a red 2003 ram 2500 laramie 4x4 with the 5.7 hemi. im going to drive the truck for a little while without the tuner on it and when i put a tune on i'll post my review of it. glad to join the ram forumz.

thanks. i got the intune friday and tried using the diagnostics function on my dads 2001, but it looks like that feature only works on the vehicles you can tune with the programmer. it said it couldnt find the ecu on his truck. i'll be sure to post some pictures when i get my new truck.

i just got the truck today and tried the 91 tune after driving it for about 40 miles. it seemed to have less power with the 91 tune then stock. i put the tune on right after i filled up with 93 when the tank was on the red line(truck took 30 gallons). i put the stock tune back on for now and cant seem to figure out the knock sensor displays on the intune. it shows something like 11500%. there are other knock sensor displays that show the knock sensor voltage. there is also 1 that show -95% and and one that shows 103% but they dont move at all. i dont know how to read it to determine if the truck is pulling timing when i run the 91 tune.

i think i was wrong about the 91 tune being less powerful than the stock tune. i just did a lap around the block here(5 miles) with the 87, diablo and 91 tune. the diablo felt like it had good power but wasnt as sharp as the 91 tune and the 87 wasnt as responsive as the 91 tune or as powerful. its hard to tell the difference between them at cruising speed rpms, you need to be at 4000 and above to really notice the difference. i dont know how it affects my milage yet, but i can tell you i was getting 11.7 mpg at 71 mph on my overhead display. that seems about right as the fuel gauge goes down quite fast! the truck had 3.73 gears from the factory(got the build sheet off this forum) and i believe they still are. i do have a check engine light on for the o2 sensor heater circuit, so that might have something to do with it. i wasnt expecting great milage out of it, but 11-12 hwy is really dissapointing. im going to fill it back up tomorrow and calculate it myself to see what im getting. btw, the anti spin diff is SO MUCH BETTER than an open diff. i can powerslide the truck from a stop with out the inside tire burnout!

Unfortunately with the 2003 there is a different computer module setup that's not on any other 3rd gen. The rest have a PCM and tcm. I believe there are no trans adjustments and it's limited in power options as well. The diablo tune is supposed to be a 93 tune but everyone reports better response and power with the 91 tune. Most guys also say the improve mpg around 1-2 with the 91 and mds off. Anyways enjoy the tuner and do some data logging. If you decide to do some major engine mods then a custom tune will dial you in perfectly.
