In the newer Toyota Tundra with remote start the truck turns off when you open a door! My parents bought a 2013 yota sienna and had the remote start added and when they use it the van turns off when the door is opened. I thought that it must be a flaw and did some research to learn that it's normal and is a security thing! Wtf. I couldn't imagine my truck turning off when I opened the doors since I remote start and load the kids up first. Why in the world would Toyota do that?! Makes me that much happier I picked ram for sure.

You would think they would make it like every other one. Touch the brake and it shuts off if the key isn't in the ignition.:doh:

My ram with pushbutton start stays on when I hit the break but it won't go into gear until the key is in the truck and I push the button. I assumed they were all like that.

Well with Toyota's previous brake problems maybe this is a safety Factor to ensure the brakes actually work when you restart the vehicle

I found a couple people on forums who were disabled and it would take them 10 mins or so to get in the truck/van and by the time they got situated they were dripping with sweat since it turned off when the door opened. Really defeats the purpose to me. I also feel like it's bad for the engine to turn it oft and on so quick anyway...
