So i was checking my oil (on my 1998 2500 V10 five-speed 8.0 motor) and when I went to put my dipstick back in the tube and went down with it. So i crawl up under my truck to check it out, I realized that my dipstick tube has snapped off level with the block. So I called Dodge for them to tell me the part was discontinued last year and checked junkyards around me With no luck. So for my question, could I Cut the flared part of the tube off and insert into the broken piece on the block anduse some kind of a high temp Adhesive. Also I was wondering if I could use one from a parted out second GEN Cummins which seem to be more available for parts to me. Also I should add in if you guys have any advice on anything else to do with it I’m all ears

Yea so its broke off? Get the piece out and put a new one (link) in. I dont care for the cheapy screw looking EZ outs but sometimes you can get them to work. You may be able to get a self tap screw to bite in and then vise grip out the chunk. Normally those tubes have a crimp that stops at the block. You take a chisle of screw driver and drive it inward a bit and it collapses and you can get it out.

The link above (MOPAR 53020929) is to the dipstick only, not the tube. The tube says out of stock but is discontinued.

I'd get the old piece out and then use it along with what's left to find one of similar length or try to repair somehow. They also offer dip stick tube repair kits that may give you an idea on how to fix yours. No idea the size of this one just showing the concept for the repair. Your broken off tube would fit into the adapter. The picture is upside down from actual use on the motor.
