Got my buddy that has his own hot rod shop to order me my Mufflex dod18m. Now Tuesday can't come soon enough!
I've had mine in few months now and it was pretty good, nice deep tone but not as loud as I expected. Recently, like 3 days or so ago I put in my magnaflow Y-pipe and mandrel bent 409 2.5 inch stainless tubing in front of it and deleted the resonators and had everything welded in including my dod18 and it is awesome now, FREAKIN LOVE it!!!!Got my buddy that has his own hot rod shop to order me my Mufflex dod18m. That's music to my ears. I use mine as a daily driver, with occasional family road trips. Didn't want anything too loud, but I'd like to hear that HEMI when I put my foot in it.Congrats, You will love the sound.
I've had mine for two years now, and still happy with it.
The factory 2.5 inch piping running from your cats to your stock y pipe and the y pipe itself are both very restrictive, they are crimped and have a mangled design, replacing this with a magnaflow y-pipe and new piping will free up your exhaust and it will flow much better, you will gain a few ponies, have better flow and possibly see an increase in mpg's, I saw a slight gain in my mpg's..Not to mention exhaust sound was greatly improved but I did do away with my resonators as well so this may weigh in on that...I would like to hear more about this Y-pipe
I got My Y pipe at auto anything for 27 ******* with free shipping, since then they have raised there price to almost 33 bucks so I would shop it around if You wanna save a few bucks. Just Google the part number #10778 and you should have good luck, amazon is usually a good place. The inlet size is 2.5 and the double outlet is 3.0..Thanks Sports10,
Thats a great thread you posted, I never knew the Y-pipe was so crappy.
I'm calling my exaust guy tomarrow to check installation prices.
