I am no upholstery person but I guess I need to learn. The drivers seat, on the outer edge, towards the door is what I need to fix. From the last owner dragging himself in, instead of sitting properly has pushed all the foam out of the proper place & the metal frame hurts! Is there any photos on here of seat repairs? Or someplace I can get some info on taking the seat apart to fix this? it's a 2008 2500 Mega with cloth seats.

I did some searching on this problem. I recently bought a 2003 3/4 ton diesel, and also have a 2010 1/2 ton. The seats in the 2010 are much more comfortable, so I started measuring the mounting brackets between the 2 trucks. The 40/20/40 seat is a direct bolt in replacement between them. So today I went to a junk yard and bought the complete front seat (driver, passenger, center console/seat) out of a wrecked 2009. It bolted in perfectly, just had to swap over my seat belt clips, because they would not buckle up to the 2009.

No more hole in the seat or exposed metal framework, and the seat is much firmer and more comfortable.

seat spring base

I started to replace seat covers and discovered that I had several wires broke under the foam. Has anyone attempted replacing these wires? I think the complete spring might be available from Dodge but everyone seems to think they're very expensive?
