I have replaced the manual windows in my truck with electric. Everything works fine....but.....when the window comes down, it tilts forward. The back of the window doesn't stay in the back runner (it did with the manual. (on the electric, everything is in the right place and bolted down securely)) and about half way down there's a clunk, like it's catching on something...I've looked...but can't see what happening.

My question is, if you have electric on your gen2, does it stay level and in the runners? or does it lean forward too and anyone have any ideas why mine may be doing this.

The armature I've used is from a 95, and mine is a 99. The only difference I can see is that with the electric versus manual the mechanism with the motor/manual winder sit at different angles in relation to the rest of the mechanism, but that makes sense because otherwise the electric motor would get in the way.

So any ideas?

In my Gen 2 truck the electric windows were level. Did you check the window track and support to make sure it raises and lowers correctly?

Did you use the manual tracks or get new ones? Also, did you check the rollers to make sure none were broken or cracked?

I think they should come up level. Does it drop and clunk or just slide down crooked?

Ok werm.....the speakers are out of the door right now so it's not the speakers.
Yes everything's in place, nothing is cracked or broken, everything is well oiled and greased and everything goes up and down as it should, the windows come all the way down and go all the way up. It doesn't drop, it just comes down at an angle and the 'clunk' just sounds like something catching - it's not a huge clunk and nothing sounds like it's being over stressed.....but it's tough seeing up in there as the windows come down lol
Oh...and I took the manual tracks out and replaced them with the used electric mechanism from a '95 model that I got as a spare truck for parts.

on my 2000 they come down level. see if you can use a mirror to see the window operation. on other cars ive had the clunk was the window leaving the track and on the way back up it would retrack. good luck.
