That's not the way I was taught but that was 45-50 years or so ago so maybe something has changed since then. One of our hired men showed me the correct way after I blew up a battery doing it wrong. BTW, eye protection is a really good idea when working around batteries as is removing any watches and rings. Clothes can be replaced but not eyeballs. It was really loud, too:Wow1:No negative, cause you black negative is your chassis ground and it's best to have both vehicles chassis grounded first.
