Are you topping it off? If you are you may be getting evap codes which cause the mil to illuminate. After a few warm up cycles the pcm sees there is no longer a problem so it clears the light. Now if your not topping it off, sorry i cant help:doh:

 

Yes I always do that and because its so hot I never turn off the car.

Ok, not turning off the truck is the problem. If you open that cap with the truck running it registers a large evap leak. Then your mil stays on for a few run cycles, so turn the truck off when you fill up and you should be fine. Wow 70 cents for super lol, I wish that was here.

 

If I'm not mistaken thats like 2.5 cents per litre!

 

thanks for the advice and it did "worked" but looks like I have the the oxygen sensor with problems so Im changing it so that the light goes off for good
