Hi guys -
I have searched and could not find the info needed. I do not want to spend $270.00 for the Mufflex DOD14M. I woul like to just get the Magnaflow 12198 Muffler and the Y-Pipe 10778.

So my question is: how much space will i need to make up? Any part number for a stainless steel extension piece?
Can anyone advise as to if i will require any reducers?

Also in the next month or 2 looking to get either the JBA headers or will wai for the BBK's to be perfected..

Muffler

The stock muffler measures just a tad over 36 inches overall... that's the muffler body and the stubs at each end. You should find the specifications for the muffler and y-pipe on their web sites and simply do the math.

ok - so i just bought the 14" Magnaflow (overall 20" stub to stub) so i should need to make up about 16-17 inches? do you know if it requires any reducers? T

The muffler is a 3" inlet/2.5" dual outlet

Muffler

Factory muffler is 3" in and 3" out on mine. The inlut side has an offset to clear a frame brace, but that won't affect your new setup because the extension pipe will clear it easily. Yes, you will need 17 or 18 inches from the factory pipe to the new muffler. If you are reusing the factory single tailpipe, it fits the factory 3 inch factory muffler. I THINK the factory dual setup is 2.5 inch out, but mine is single so I can't swear to it.
You will also need to come up with a hanger setup for the muffler. The factory mufler has TWO rods welded to the back of the muffler body that attach to the flex hangers. I have a lift in my metal fabrication shop and basically duplicated the factory setup. You may need to pick up some 1/2 inch rod and make a U-shape hanger that runs under the muffler exit tube and up to the flex hangers. You should be able to do it with a vise and a hammer. Then drive it over to a muffler shop and have them tack it in place on bottm of the exit tube.
