I am shopping for aftermaket head units for my 2012 ram. Most of them sell optional sirius tuners with an antenna. Is there an adapter or is an adapter required to use the factory sirius antenna with an aftermarket head unit? I searched and most of the info was 3rd gen

i just put stereo in my truck and had to buy an adapter to get the serious radio to work,not sure if it had anything to do with the antenna though.

Yea I'll need that device as well but that kit comes with an antenna, I want to know if I need to use the antenna with that kit or if I can use the one my (sirius enabled) factory radio is currently using

Sirius Antenna

It doesn't fit. I'm trying to find an adapter. Take a look. Let me know if anyone knows the solution, because I don't want to run the other antenna. Mine is the Male version and the kit comes with the female version.

Google FAKRA antenna adapter and see if that will work for you. It seems to do what you need, but you can look closely and see if that matches your connections.
