On numerous occasions since the acquisition of the Ram, I've forgotten to close the rear sliding window. Luckily, no harm done with foul weather (yet). I know, look before leaving the cab, have a procedure, maybe its because I've only had it for two weeks, so I hope this is a temporary thing. Anybody else have the same issues? Are there any failsafe tips to avoid this situation? :shy:

Just gotta teach yourself to double check when leaving. I always check all the time to make sure I turned off my extierior leds, closed my windows and locked my tailgate. If I question myself when inside, I run out to double check

Sorta like making sure you locked the front door when leaving the house.

im the same way, always leave it open, or catch myself walking away with it open,
if you tint your rear window dark, you will notice it clear as day when its left open, not exactly a solution, but best i can think of..

with that being said, i have left mine open on several occasions, some of which it even rained like crazy, not one drop of water made it inside my cab, unless its a wind driven rain you should be ok if it gets left open.

fancy truck problem i guess lol.

I must be the odd ball lol, I think I have only opened my rear slider once and that was to make sure the power slider worked. I think if I had a regular cab I would use it but having a back seat behind me it just never seemed like I needed to open it

Haven't left the rear slider open yet, but on a couple of occasions, I did forget to close the tailgate. Dumb question, but why isn't there an idiot light just letting you know the tailgate is open? Again, not like I do it all the time, but I'll sometimes get out and re-check it again after I know I closed it, and a light would be cool. Just sayin.

i haul stuff quite frequently that requires me to keep my tailgate down, or even in some cases removed, so im glad there is no light that wouldn't shut off due to the fact my tailgate was open or off lol unless there was an override or something,

Until our trip to Gatty this month, I'd only opened my rear slider a handful of times. Weather here is nice once in awhile and I've opened all windows, the sunroof and the rear slider just cause I could. Like feeling the wind in my hair, lol!

On the way to Gatty, it helped with air flow through the cab. It's so bloody humid in the East! My gawd! I left it open when we made a trip to Walmart for cleaning supplies (and lawn chairs, lol) and I felt like a doofus when we returned to the truck and it was open. Luckily, it is such a small opening that no one could fit through it and the weather was nice so no rain or whatnot. But I still felt stupid and that was enough to make me check it at every truck stop on the way home.

So, for me, it took just that one time of feeling like a complete idiot to change my ways and check it.

Man I'm glad I'm not the only one who does this
I know that feeling and you still wonder what you are forgetting, until you get home and realize that you left the house keys in the house.
I've ran at 1am in snow and rain storms to double check. I Have a 2 way alarm that had a digital fob that shows my truck is locked and if anyone hit it.

I've left mine open a couple of times. The worst time I left it open on purpose for the mutt... But when I came out a freak heavy fog/drizzle started while I was in the grocery store. Enough water got in that I had to wipe down the seats with a towel. Damned dog, why didn't he shut it?!

Have not done that but I have left the parking lot and forgot to open my mirrors. That was scary when I realized I could not see anything beside me. Ya ya I know, I did not check my mirrors before moving. Bad me.
I've done that when I have driven my dad's suv. he always has them tucked in. My trucks mirrors are always in tow mode and only 1 is power so they are typicallly where I left them. Threw me off real bad seeing no mirrors when driving.
