WOW...I knew these tires were crappy but this is just crazy! Ram needs to stop putting these cheap tires on their vehicles. I was hoping to get a year or two out of these before dropping the cash on new ones so I could level it at the same time but I may not wait now.

A couple of mine had formed "waves" in the side walls. They only had 20,000 on them.

Crazy and scary to see these pics of the blown SRA's. I'll surely be monitoring mine very closely now. I have 21k on mine and they seem to be wearing well and even. I have them rotated at every oil change.

My 2016 Ram now has 1200 miles on it
The original tires & rims are in storage
after market rims & Michelin's are on the truck, they look better & ride much better, i have road hazard warranty

The rims & tires were on my 2009 before, they may have 5000 miles on them

I have these wranglers on my truck and never knew they could blow like that. I had blowouts before, but never across the tire from inside rim to outside rim. That is a structural defect and a very serious one. I have 7300 miles on me truck and will really consider new tires now.

Same thing happened to me this morning on my 2014 Ram. I have 46K miles on my tires so I guess I got lucky. I still think I should get more miles out of a tire than 46K though. Hopefully Geico will cover but I have a $1000 deductible. Has anyone had any luck with Goodyear claiming this?

 I still can't believe this is happening to these tires and in the same fashion. Really surprised there hasn't been a recall for these tires.

I see you're still running them, be careful. Mine were wearing good and I had them rotated as needed at the dealership. I was going 70-75 on the highway when this happened.
I have contacted Goodyear but I don't expect to hear back. I'm not going to push the subject with them since I did get 46K miles out of the tires. If this had happened at 5, 10, or 20K miles I would definitely be fighting it.
What hurts the most is now my truck will have a repair on it . I always hate that. I'm one of those people who can look at a vehicle and see a repair.
On a good note, I got myself a new set of Michelins

It's a shame to have to ditch a set of tires with such low miles, but seeing as what is going on in this thread, it's worth it. What type of Michelins did you go with? I had a set of LTX AT2's on my previous truck. They did well in all environments and weather.

I stayed with stock size 275/60R20. Michelin Defender LTX M/S.
I agree about replacing tires at such a low mileage. That's a tough decision.

I contacted Goodyear. It is too late for me but maybe this will help out someone else. Here is their response:

Thank you for contacting our web site. We are always concerned when we learn that we have failed to exceed a customer's expectations with regards to our product or service.

All Goodyear tires come with a six year limited warranty. During the first
12 months or 2/32" of tread wear, whichever comes first, tires removed from service due to a covered warranty condition will be replaced with a comparable Goodyear product free of charge, mounting and balancing are included.

Tires not eligible for free replacement that are removed from service due to a covered warranty condition will be replaced with a comparable new Goodyear tire on a prorated basis for up to six (6) years from the date of purchase. (Without proof of purchase the date of manufacture will be used to determine eligibility.)

Without inspecting the tire in question we could not comment as to its cause or condition.

Please contact our Customer Assistance Center toll free at 1-800-321-2136 to discuss your situation with one of our Customer Assistance Professionals. Hours of operation are Mon-Fri from 8:30am-5:45pm EST.

I have a 2015 Ram Sport with Goodyear Wrangler 275/60R20 tires...I have 11278 actual miles on truck and use it mainly for hunting fishing, camping and a little yard work...while hunting Doves this past weekend I had two impact breaks on my 1500 Sport using the OE Wrangler SR-A...the breaks both happened on a dirt road (no large rocks, just small gravel) same road about 5 miles between breaks...the impact break on both tires was in the middle tread...the tech at the tire shop told me Wrangler SR-A's are very notorious for impact breaks...he sold me two take off's from a chevy for $42 a piece, they are practically brand new take off's ...I am very weary of using this tire on dirt/gravel roads...I have tried to read reviews on "impact breaks" for SR-A's anyone else have a impact break problem...why does Ram put these tires on a 4x4 truck...

Man that sucks! Glad to hear it sounds like no one was hurt? Any damage to the wheel or your truck from the blowout?

I've had good experiences with SRA's on my 15' and 17' Ram (so far). Was really hoping this issue was done with and it was something to do with a "bad batch" of tires or something from years past.

Wheel was scuffed up a little in one spot which was probably from trying to drive the truck to a safe spot to put the spare on. Had it been a front tire, things might have been different. I was going around a long sweeping curve and the roads were slick and icy in places.

The owner of the tire place I just took it to said he'd never seen a tire blow like that. They are sending it to the guy who looks at their Goodyear tires for warranties. We will see what they say.

Has anyone experienced a complete bead to bead blowout on Goodyear tires?? I had my front tire blow out at highway speed and it did a lot of damage to my truck. Estimated $1800 in repairs [ not including tire and rim], tried to google and search without much luck.

Any ideas on what could make this happen...sure would like to know if this is typical Goodyear stuff??? They want me to send them the tire for testing.
Hi. Yep just had it happen on back rear. Identical looking blowout. The dealership did come good for tire and rim. It was a 2021 Ram, 2months old with 3300km
