Has anybody here heard of this mod? I was checking out the MoparTalk forums, and saw this mod. Apparently all it takes is a 12 gauge wire with an eyelet on both ends. It attaches at one end to the throttle body on one of the attaching bolts, and the other end attaches to a ground on the inner fender well, preferably on the battery ground screw. It is supposed to at least minimize the throttle lag, as well as make the tranny shift more crisp.:4-dontknow:

We went through this about a month ago. The mod doesn't do a thing because the internals of the throttle body are not susceptible to em interference. Some imports that have circuitry in the tb MAY see a difference, but not in ours. Our tbs are also internally grounded. This is the same as the hypergrounding fad that went through a year ago; someone remembers some basics from high school physics and suddenly everyone claims it made a difference in their 'buttdyno'.

This was treated by several people on the lxforums and found to be pure bunk. All claims of throttle response was always based on the 'buttdyno' never proven even when using an osciliscope; and I can't help but laugh at the idea of a wire on the tb affecting the transmission shifts.

Wasn't that primarily a 3rd gen mod? I don't think I've read about anyone with a 4th gen doing it. It's an interesting idea, but I'm skeptical.

It popped up in today's email release of Dodge Talk.com newsletter. Yes, Ironsides, it appears it was strictly a 3rd gen mod.

I have a 3rd gen. I've heard of it, but nobody ever did say where on the TB you need to wire it to. I figure it probably shouldn't matter, since it's all metal, but ya never know. For the price of a couple eyelets, I'm curious to see what they hype is... I figure, what can it hurt.

Did it, did nothing. It's pure placebo effect. Didn't cost me anything but 5 mins time so, oh well. I did however put a resistor in my IAT circuit like a "Power-Wire" from Air-Ram, that made a nice difference. Feels like it runs as if I were driving the first few miles before the truck warms upon a cool day. Just all around peppy.
