Have any of you guys heard of this? I have a buddy with an 08 ram hemi and he just ran a 10 gauge wire from a bolt on the trottle body over to a grounding location near the battery. And he says that he has noticed a big difference in throttle response.

My only theory on this is: By grounding out the throttle body it takes any ambient static built up on the wires and cleans up the signal going to and from the sensor/pcm? The flow of air going through the throttle body could build up enough static to cause extra noise on the signal and this would clean it up? Making for a more accurate variable the pcm can use to compute?

Any more imformative input on this idea would be awesome!

There may be some merit to your theory it would be interesting to scope the signal for comparison with or without the extra wire direct to ground. I do have a hard time believing there would be that much static but you never know I guess.
Even if there was just a tiny bit of static on the signal this could change a whole lot of things the pcm will do to the whole system. The only way you could test it is to have the return wire hooked up to a spectrum analyzer or an occiloscope and see if over time there is any build up of extra noise on the signal but you would need to know what the threshold is from the factory. Then connect the grounding wire to the throttle body and see if the noise drops.

And hey if it is true you sure cant beat the price of free. Im possitive that 90% of us have some wire just laying aroung the house that a multitude of you guys could try this and see if it really works or if it is just a pipe dream...

LOL, I was just thinking this myself. It's easy to do, it's cheap and there is absolutely no harm it could do. Might give it a try just to see if I can notice any difference.
And if it does work i deserve some mega rep points!

just did this on my lunch hour, took me more time to buy the wiring (12ga) and connectors than install it (about 5 minutes too)... i ran the wiring from bottom bolt drivers side to the ground connection for fusebox (on frame just behind the plastic fender well), I can't honestly say i felt anything different because I've set my throttle sensitivity on the diablo to pretty sensitive (my custom tune is also set to sensitive)... but what I'm looking for out of this is getting rid of some of the random dings i get which could be due to tb grounding (or lack there of)...we'll see...
You could try resetting the PCM you might notice a difference then?

If people are getting a "noticeable" difference with this mod that is basically free it should at least be tried? And... that i understand all the cons are backed up with no permanent evidence other than saying its nothing but pipe dreams and complete BS... And that the way its being proven has been nothing but from personal experiences and nothing else. To prove this wrong someone needs to officially test the fact that the factory ground is or is not doing its job. Not by calling it complete BS.

You are not listening i could car less if it works or not... The mod has not been disproven or proved the facts are unknown. Just by saying a hole bunch of stuff that has nothing to do with the mod doesn't "PROVE" anything. It takes actual tests of the entire system to say that what people are and arent experiencing is false?

Nah, we be good. Besides, I fight like a little girl, though all the hand swatting and potential mud wrestling might be enough to get us on Jerry Springer...

Gonna be nuts with big valve heads, spartan cam, 3000 edge stall, and 6.1 intake. Hoping for 500hp at the wheels but who knows...

Your truck's gonna be crazy! Heck it's already crazy lol. I don't know how some of you get so many mods done, I feel like I'm constantly working on my truck and don't have 1/4 what some of you have lol.
Well be glad cause at this point i need supporting mods like a built trans and a new rear and front diff. which eventually i will shred most likely the trans.
